Replacing it. The old floor wasn’t in good enough shape to refinish, plus there were a few places (where there used to be a wall) that needed to be patched up. Just better to put down new.
Having Just Done This, I feel your pain. We removed the contents of the entire upper floor of our house to the living room (furniture) and basement (etc.). It looks *fabulous* now. But what a lot of work! We are still sorting and loading stuff back in.

Are you sanding down the old one, or tearing it up and replacing it?
